Carswell expresses his appreciation for "the splendid way" that Don has handled the substantial interests entrusted to his care noting his Dad [H. O. Wooten] and Mother were in Simmons when he enrolled there and that his Grandfather was one of his good and helpful friends.

Carswell advises that due to reminiscing at Christmastime he is writing to show his gratitude for the kindness and friendships of Mugs' Dad and Mother, Grandfather and Grandmother, expressing his gratitude to Mugs in their absence and wishing for him a Merry Christmas.

Carswell advises that his daughter, Peggy Carswell, has recently moved to Dallas and has a "constructive interest in politics". He advises Drake, that in his opinion, Peggy would fit in well with his organization.

A letter written to Bill Fulwiler from T. N. Carswell, dated December 23, 1957. Carswell advises Bill due to Christmas making him reminisce that he wrote to expresses his appreciation for W. J. Fulwiler, Bill's father, for his friendship and leadership in the building of Abilene during the years Carswell served [at the Abilene Chamber of Commerce]. He commends Bill on the exemplary way that he and Harry have carried on the multiple interests of W. J.

Copy to Miss Peggy Carswell, Dallas, Texas and to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas. Drake advises Nicholson to place the name of Miss Peggy Carswell in the file as "one to be notified for all Conservative efforts" in their precinct and county Conservative projects. In a handwritten postscript Drake thanks Carswell for writing.

Carswell advises that he sold his travel business but is requesting assistance in obtaining passage home for Miss Mary Ann Whitehead who is studying in London and has been unable to book passage due to heavy bookings.

Carswell acknowledges his receipt of the letter from Parks, discusses options for the class of accomodation and payment for Miss Whitehead and then expresses his appreciation for their help regarding her accomodations.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from Claude Lloyd, dated December 6, 1957. Lloyd describes his Christmas adventures with his children and grandchildren and requests that Carswell send a Poinsettia to Claudine and Ollie Lena Olsen for him. He then reminisces about the last Christmas Carswell and he had together shooting Roman Candles at each other, "you and Gib against Jake and me" (Jake [J. D. Sandefer, Jr.], Gib [Sandefer, Gilbert Bryan]).

Lloyd explains why his choice to take a trip back to Abilene rather than going abroad was the right choice.
