Marchbanks advises that her daughter Marilyn won the Literary Scholarship given by Dr. White to attend Hardin-Simmons University and, therefore, is requesting that Carswell recommend her for employment to the Commanding Officer at Camp Barkeley noting that his being on the draft board should help.

A form letter addressed to Mr. J. B. Allcorn, 17th District Rehabilitation Officer, The American Legion, Comanche, Texas, from GCB (George C. Betts), Chairman Rehabilitation Program Committee, dated October 7, 1942. Betts advises that the American Legion Rehabilitation Program Committee met with the Department Rehabilitation Committee and selected Allcorn as 17th District Rehabilitation Officer and then explains the goals regarding a rehabilitation program. He advises of the Department Commander appointment of Mr. Henri Warren as Chairman of the Department Rehabilitation Committee. Members of the Department Rehabilitation Program Committee: George C. Betts, L. L. B. Hofer, Howell S. Palmer, H. V. Royston, Henri Warren.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, 5th Div., Commander, American Legion, from J. B. Allcorn, Comanche, Texas, dated September 4, 1942. Allcorn declines the invitation to attend the dedication of the Parramore Post building due to having to watch their tires.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from J. B. Allcorn, Comanche, Texas, dated March 13, 1942. Allcorn congratulates Carswell on his election confiding that he knew nothing about the race including Carswell's name being on the ballot until he had started for the Legion hall.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas, from J. B. Allcorn, Comanche, Texas, dated May 16, 1941. Allcorn replies to a letter from Carswell and affirms his support of Carswell's candidacy for District Commander noting that he is not able to promise Carswell the Comanche vote discussing, at length, past and future politics of the Legion.

A letter written to Mrs. Clara Belle Marchbanks, ("Miss Spencer"), De Leon, Texas from T. N. Carswell dated July 28, 1941. Carswell advises Marchbanks that he is passing her letter on to Dr. White, himself not being familiar with the details of the need regarding teachers.
