When the teacher entered the class, he slipped on one of the apricots and consequently punished the student. The speakers also recall several other stories/events in this session.

Meena and Seema complete set-up 1 of the Family Story Task, a picture-based stimulus task. They describe the 16 pictures and then rearrange them in whatever order they think is right. Then, they tell the whole story from start to finish. In this case, the final step of re-telling the story from another perspective was skipped because there was no third participant. The recording was made at Uma Homestay in Rakchham village.

This is a conversation between Abdul Haq (a 29-year old male teacher) and Abdul Qayum (a 60-year old male) about life in village Danna in the olden days.

This is a traditional story about a king who teaches his sons that unity is strength. He explains that one person by himself, just like one stick, can be broken easily, but many people together, like many sticks, cannot be so easily broken. Aurangzeb (born 1985) told the story while Gohar Rehman, born 1981, listened.

Recording of a traditional narrative where a cunning wife puts her husband to test by pretending to be ill all the time. The husband uses all possible means to cure her but to no avail. He then asks his wife to suggest what else he could do to cure her. She asks him to disgrace his mother. He disgraces her mother instead. His wife is shocked to see this. However, he responds to her saying that he did what she had asked him to do in order to cure her illness. The narrator Abdul Qayum (a 60-year old male factory worker) is narrating the story to two young speakers of Mankiyali (Abdul Haq and Aurangzeb).
