A photograph of a picture in a wooden case with velvet and metal details from the Byrd Williams Family Photography Collection, held by UNT Special Collections. The photo is either a daguerreotype or an ambrotype of a woman holding a baby. The wooden case has a red plush cushion on the inside of the lid with a pattern cut into it. The photo is surrounded by a golden inlay with a similar design. It is an unknown portrait which was brought back from Texas from Tennessee after the Civil War.

[Freshman reception card and pins]

Three photographs of a card and pins from the Byrd Williams Family Photography Collection, held by UNT Special Collections. The card, which is in all three photos reads "Freshman Reception; Driskill Hotel; November 12, 1901. Admit B. M. Williams". The number "165" is written in the top right-hand corner. In the first picture the pins are golden stars with golden wreaths behind them. There is white writing on them that reads "T '06" with a "C" and an "E" on the prongs. The pins in the second picture resemble a seal with an eagle at the top and a castle in the middle. Words around the bottom read "American Military Engineers". The pin in the third picture is green and decorative and has a white banner across the middle that reads "1901".
