Interview with Antonio Chavez, a former UNT student from Sonora, Texas. Chavez discusses the desegregation of schools in Sonora, experiences in grade school and the disparity in quality between segregated schools, his father's grocery business, discrimination, majoring in elementary education, working in geophysics, attending North Texas State College, life in Denton and on campus, and raising his family.

Interview with Betty Kimble, an employee of Texas Instruments and community activist from Denton, Texas. Kimble discusses her education and family, growing up in Denton, the relocation of Quakertown and the development of new black neighborhoods, changing demographics and current issues, and community action in Southeast Denton. In appendix is a photo of the Denton County Courthouse, the Confederate Memorial, and a picture of students and teachers at the Fred Moore School in the 1930s or 40s, as identified in the interview by Mrs. Kimble.

Interview with Bruce Monroe from San Antonio, Texas. Monroe discusses attending Texas A&M, coming out, the gay scene in Houston and Florida, the start of the AIDS epidemic, living in Dallas and work with the Dallas Gay Alliance, becoming president of the DGA, changing its name, the Dallas Buyers Club, work in Washington DC, living with HIV, Dallas Way, and art.

Interview with Campbell Read, a professor at Southern Methodist University and Dallas-area LGBT activist from Edinburgh, Scotland. Read discusses fighting police harassment, organizing a televised rebuttal to televangelist James Robison's condemnation of the gay community, important members of the community in Dallas and Denton, attending college in Lebanon and the United States, becoming involved with gay rights' activities at SMU, his family, and bird-watching. In appendix are pictures of demonstration signs Read carried and relevant newspaper clippings.

Interview with Candy Marcum. The interview includes Marcum's personal experiences from her childhood, growing up as a lesbian, the gay community, and being involved in the Human Rights Campaign. She particularly talks about counseling gay people, the AIDS crisis, and the coming out process.

Interview with Cecelia Hernandez, a Mexican-American resident of Fort Worth, Texas. Hernandez discusses her schooling, her family, thoughts on college and first generation students, becoming and being a parent, working at Fort Worth ISD, and encountering struggles as a Hispanic person and parent. In appendix is her family tree.

Interview with former Denton City Council member Charlye Heggins as part of the UNT African American Remembrance Project. The interview includes Heggins' personal experiences about her childhood, raising a family, doing volunteer work in Denton, and being involved with Texas politics. She particularly talks about discrimination and race issues in Denton during the 1970s and '80s. It includes an appendix with photographs and an article about her death.

Interview with Dana Lodge, an employee of the Denton Conventions and Visitors Bureau from Dallas, Texas. Lodge discusses growing up, her education, her work in the restaurant industry, entering the hospitality industry and her work with the Bureau, festivals and events in Denton, local history, and plans for the future of Denton. In appendix are pictures of the Denton County Courthouse and the Confederate Soldiers memorial. Includes an appendix.

Interview with David Taffet, a Dallas-area LGBT activist from Yonkers, New York. Taffet discusses his education, coming out, anti-war activism at State University of New York at Albany, the SUNY Gay Alliance, moving to Dallas, the AIDS epidemic, police harassment and entrapment, working for the Custom Shop and the Dallas Voice, the "AIDS cocktail" and advancements in treatment of the illness, and grassroots politics.

Interview with Don Maison, President and Chief Executive Officer of AIDS services of Dallas. The interview includes Maison's personal experiences about his childhood, working with the Dallas County Juvenile Department, being gay, being involved with the gay community, and his experiences as a lawyer. He particularly talks about being involved with the Dallas Gay Alliance, the Village Station arrests, and the AIDS crisis.

Interview with Effie McQueen from Marshall, Texas. McQueen discusses her childhood and education, attending North Texas State University, participation in civil rights activism, getting the streets of south Denton paved, Quakertown, employment and discrimination, her church involvement, the Denton County Courthouse, and reflections on the town. In appendix is a photo of the Denton County Courthouse and one of the Den County Confederate Memorial.

Interview with Emre Ersin Ozer, a software engineer and immigrant to Texas from Sivas, Turkey. Ozer discusses his family background, his education, his marriage, Turkish culture and community in the US, the effect of the 2008 financial crisis, immigration, graduate school, work, and citizenship.

Interview with Gary Bruce, a resident of Pilot Point, Texas. Bruce recounts his childhood and growing up in a poor community, primary school, his parents, high school, racism, the JFK and MLK assassinations, the Texas State Fair, Juneteenth, jobs worked, his first marriage, children, his second wife, family history in north Texas, changes in Denton and Pilot Point over the years, segregation, and the Zimmerman trial. In appendix are a series of family photos.

Interview with Howard Okon, a businessman and LGBT community activist from Dallas, Texas. Okon discusses founding the Dallas Tavern Guild, running gay bars in the 1970s, coming out, drug use, political allies, vandalism and raids, changes in patronage, the current state of Texas gay bars, the AIDS epidemic, the impact of social media on the scene, the Dallas dance hall ordinance, activism, and generational differences.

Interview with Igor Juric, an immigrant from Konjic, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Juric discusses growing up in Yugoslavia, fleeing to Vela Luka at the start of the Bosnian Wars, returning to Konjic and living in the midst of conflict, fleeing to Germany via Čapljina, moving to the Colony, Texas, and adjusting to life in America.

Interview with Joseph Hazen, Marine veteran and Air America fixed-wing pilot, for the Air America Oral History Project. The interview includes Hazen's personal experiences at Navy flight training, peace-time Marine Corps, and flying for Air America. Hazen talks about interactions with the "Customer," also known as CIA case officers, his interaction with the Hmong, various missions, his transfer to Southern Air Transport, rumors about Air America, and his thoughts on U.S. involvement in Southeast Asia. The interview includes an appendix with photographs.

Interview with Josephine Bermejo, first generation of Bermejo women, for the Mexican American Women's Educational Experience Oral History Project. The interview includes Bermejo's recollections of schooling in Minnesota and Iowa, learning in English schools, leaving school for family obligations, and getting a GED in Fort Worth, Texas. Bermejo also talks about children's education and her thoughts on the future of Mexican American education. It includes an appendix with the Bermejo family tree.

Interview with Karen Dickson, vice-president of the Denton Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Division from Bryan, Texas. Dickson discusses her childhood and education, her career, economic development and the work she does for the Chamber of Commerce, thoughts on "community" and being a community leader, and the economic history of Denton. In appendix is a photo of the Denton County Courthouse and one of the Denton County Confederate Memorial.

Interview with Kelly Sanders, owner of Mable Peabody’s Beauty Parlor and Chainsaw Repair, Denton’s first LGBT-friendly bar. She recalls her childhood in East Texas and in Gainesville, Texas; brief marriage to a man; coming out narrative; experiences managing bars in Dallas; experiences during the AIDS crisis; relationships with LGBT community; decision to open Mable Peabody’s, and experiences there.

Interview with Kim Phillips, vice-president of the Denton Conventions and Visitors Bureau from Longview, Texas. Phillips discusses her love of Denton, her childhood and education, the music scene, the sense of community,, the CVB's work, local history, Quakertown, the Chamber of Commerce, the black and Hispanic communities, and the Confederate memorial. In appendix is a picture of Denton County Courthouse and the County Confederate Memorial.

Interview with Laura Nevada Weger, U.S. Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class, Cryptologic Technician, and Operation Iraqi Freedom Veteran, for the Women Veterans Oral History Project. The interview includes Weger's personal experiences of childhood, her family history of military service, reasons for joining the Navy, reaction from her family to her enlistment, training as a cryptological technician, first duty station at Whidbey Island, Washington. Weger talks about the lack of women in unit, rate of pregnancy among unit, sexual assault in the Navy, being a sexual assault victim advocate at SPAWAR, Chantilly, Virginia, deployments aboard the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson, the Shellback Ceremony and hazing, her activity in veterans groups, the civilian reaction to service, reflections on military service, her second duty station at SPAWAR, Chantilly, Virginia, and advice for future female service members. Additionally, she includes her thoughts on the lifting of combat exclusion ban on women, working at a joint command, integrated barracks, women on submarine duty, the Naval medical system, and her grandmother's service in the Women's Army Corp during the Korean War. The interview includes an appendix with photographs and a list detailing Weger's military career.

Interview with Linda Pina, a cousin of UNT interviewer Francis Bravo from Fort Worth, Texas, interviewed for for the Mexican American Women's Educational Experience project. Pina discusses growing up, school, her parents' divorce, and her own children and their education. In appendix is Bravo and Pina's family tree.

Interview with Lorra Golden, a Army Iraq War veteran from Gainesville, Texas. Golden discusses her family background, life before the military, joining the Army, training, struggles as an older enlistee and a lesbian in the service, deployment to Camp Taji, driving convoys, seeing combat, having PTSD, veterans, the chain of command, women in combat and female integration, and the repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. In appendix is a chronology of Golden's service, and two photos of newspaper clippings of the construction of walls around Sadr City, Baghdad.

Interview with Marjorie Rae Lutkins Babcock, Women's Army Corps Enlisted, Keypunch Operator, and Korean War-ere Veteran, for the Women Veterans Oral History Project. The interview includes Babcock's personal experiences of childhood in Michigan, basic training at Fort Lee, Virginia, duty assignments at Governor's Island, New York and Hanau, Germany, her temporary duty assignment at the Pentagon, her placement in the Veterans of Foreign War's Women's Auxiliary despite veteran status, and her brother's experience in the Merchant Marines during World War II. Additionally, the interview includes her reason for enlisting, her family's reaction to her enlistment, impressions of post-war Germany, advice for future women service members, her views on service and women in combat, and her daughter's views of the military and the military service of her mom and other family members.
