[Response to Stress]

Photographs of the 2011-2012 artist's book competition winner "Response to Stress" created by Catherine Snapp Lavoie. The books contains no text. It is an accordion-fold book with five panels of double card stock joined together with one piece of cloth running in between the two layers of the panels. The verso and recto of each panel features collages in pastel earth tone colors. Pieces of crochet thread are applied to both recto and verso of the three panels. One panel has thread on the verso, the remaining on the recto only. The book is housed in a clam shell box that is covered in two-tone letterpress paper. The first image is the book opened up showing the pattern on the panels that are splashes of tan/yellow colors, stretched out in front of the case with a splotch of tan over it. Image 2, the stretched out panels and case seen from the top. Image 3, the open panels of the book are seen from the front, the yellow/tan splotches more visible with thread over it and propped on top the box.
