The mural is on the back of the Lufkin ISD Administration Building that faces Cotton Square and is built where the 1882 Houston E.& W. railway depot was located. The Angelina & Neches (A&N) RR was a local short-line railroad started in 1900 to service the Angelina Lumber Company Mill (later the Southland Paper Mill) located about a mile east of this .
