Turner and Ken Whalen. Darla Thompson acting as secretary. The meeting was in regards to the nomination of TDNA members to serve on the Board of Directors.

Minutes for July 19, 2007 Texas Daily Newspaper Association Board of Directors' Meeting at the Headliner's Club in Austin, Texas. The members in attendance of the meeting were, Charles Moser, Gary Borders, Jeremy Halbreich, Patrick Birmingham, Darrell Coleman, Matt Oliver, Doug Toney, Ken Whalen, and Darla Thompson. President Charles Moser opened the meeting and Ken Whalen presented the administrative report that TDNA has about $80,000 in a Frost Brokerage money market savings and investments account.

Those in attendance were, Charles Moser, Gary Borders (by conference call), Stephen Beasley (by conference call), Patrick Birmingham, Darrell Coleman, Olaf Frandsen, Belinda Gaudet, Matt Oliver, Doug Toney, Ken Whalen and Darla Thompson. President Charles Moser called the meeting to order and stated the purpose was to review TDNA's financial activities for 2007 and adopt the operating budget for 2008.

The 2007 Annual Meeting Report from the Texas Daily Newspaper Association's meeting held on July 19, 2007 at the Headliners Club in Austin, Texas. The document reports that one of the problems with the annual meeting was the attendance, from the previous year the attendance was better but the costs were higher for those attending. Ninety-two members and guests had attended the annual meeting from the previous sixty-eight from 2006.

Texas Daily Newspaper Association's Frank W. Mayborn Award for Community Leadership history. The Mayborn Award for Community Leadership is awarded annually by Texas Daily Newspaper Association to a publisher or newspaper executive who contributed most significantly to the society during the past year. The criteria for the nominee should exhibit outstanding and exemplary leadership which reflect credit upon the newspaper business. The award recipient for 2006 was Nelson Clyde IV (mis-identified in document), President and Publisher for the Tyler Morning Telegraph. The recipients for the Mayborn award have been listed all the way back to 1992.
