Evening dress

Dress of black net covered in silver and gold sequins. Gold and black beads and rhinestones around high neckline and armholes. Center back zipper; waistline seam. Full-length skirt flares from hip. Skirt has sparsely placed sequins connected with yellow thread; 3" wide crinoline around inside of hem; 3 layers of black net attached with interior belt at waist holds out fullness of skirt. Designer's label on inside grosgrain petersham at zipper: "Oscar de la Renta" Size tag below designer's label.

Center front opening with band of houndstooth closed with 3 chrome colored buckles. Slits at bottom left and right hem are closed with houndstooth covered buttons. 3/4 length sleeves with rolled cuffs. Side 2: Black and white houndstooth checked wool. Collar rolls to black velvet. Band and seam at hip. Slits at bottom left and right hem are closed with houndstooth covered buttons.

The Alchemist's Wedding Band

The small scale sculpture, according to the artist, represents an alchemical allegory of marriage. It is symmetrical with two bulbous shapes emerging from a third round piece which is balanced on a crescent shape. The work is topped with a funnel shape holding some shapes made of lead.

Evening dress

Ballgown of gold silk duchess satin. Bodice and skirt are of gold silk. Sweetheart neck with center point and 4" straps. Center panel of bodice is ivory silk with heavy hand beading of gold, crystal, and silver sequins mixed with embroidery in white in ornate floral pattern. Center panel points into a "V" with gold gathered panels on the side and back. Skirt is knife pleated and has a slight train. CB closure with a lower back. Dress is lined in white and bronze satin in the bodice with sewn in cups for support and skirt is lined in white muslin. There is a white petersham-type belt inside. 28" waist. No label inside.
