This work was created from a voice that belongs to a hypothetical King who is subliminally transmitting a message to the audience on Christmas Eve. It is meant to be broadcast on December 24th to families in front of the television.

Recording of Peter De Moncey-Conegliano's In memoriam George Sand. This work pays homage to George Sand whose combination of acute social conscience and intense artistic sensibility are rare in today's world. This piece speaks on the outcomes of the Industrial Revolution and the first demand of socialism. The material in this piece includes texts by George Sand, fragments of a 19th century folk song, and Chopin's "Revolutionary Etude".

Recording of Andrés Lewin-Richter's Essay on trombone. This work was created using material based on samples of trombone that were used in other compositions by the composer. This essay shows the possibilities of a virtual sound recording of a piece for instrument and electronic sound.

Recording of Eduardo Montilla's Paisaje ondualar. This work is based on virtual wind instruments and DSP as well as both synthetic and concrete sounds. This piece represents the silence before the sunrise and an imaginary landscape in dreams.

Recording of Jos Janssen's Saluang. This piece was created on the basis of the saluang flute playing of the people of North Sumatra in Indonesia. Saluang playing is a very meditative way of playing with the technique of circular breathing. This work was originally made for Teresa Birks, a human rights watcher in Indonesia.

Recording of Bernard Donzel-Gargand's Chemin d'émois. This work explores the sounds of a journey made by a musician from the forests to plains. It includes the sounds of nature as well as electroacoustic sounds.

Recording of Alain Basso's Meca mecanica. This work was created as part of the Bourges 2004 Synthèse Festival. This work combines two types of sounds: themes of Western music which include the flute, orchestra, violin, and barrel organ, as well as oriental themes. The title was derived by the idea that instruments themselves can be defined as a type of mechanism which is used to create sound.

Recording of Disastrato's Les Maîtres Sonneurs (pot-pourrire). This work was created as part of the Bourges Synthèse Festival and explores the sounds of traditional instruments from folk music. The composer used samples of "anatolian folk" recordings and then spent 4 weeks programming them.

Recording of Göran Lindsjö's Preludium and canon for bagpipe sounds. The composer has used recordings of nine tones that were produced by a bagpipe that were then transformed and assembled together to create the work. The composer notes that neither the preludium nor the canon is written in genuine folklore style, but rather the only folklore characteristic about the composition is the bagpipe sound.

Recording of Phill Niblock's Parker's Altered Mood aka Owed to bird. This work was created based on the theme of the American composer/musician Charlie Parker. This theme is played on alto saxophone by Ulrich Krieger. This theme was recorded several times and then layered with retuning all of or some of the notes.

Recording of Paolo Besagno's Normalmente, due. This work is an homage to Mr. Jacquard and his loom. The score was written with rows and columns in order to maintain the concept of the loom. The composer describes this piece as "a word game".

Recording of Ruth Glatt's Simmelibärg transfiguration. This work follows the contents of an old popular Swiss folksong, "Guggisberglied". This song tells the story of a mountain which stands as an obstacle between two people in love. The composer has used this folksong and transformed it to explore the idea of what humans and machines have in common.

Recording of Jadel Andreetto's Slow Motion Tarantula. This is a work for electronics that includes German spoken word and flute.

Recording of Marcus Bittencourt's Rabo-de-Arraia. This work was composed under the theme of "Les Maitres Sonneurs" and shares some folk traditions of Brazil. The idea of this work comes from several of the composer's memories of watching capoeira circles which acts as a martial art, dance, sport, game, and musical event. The ensemble of capoeira musicians in this work was recreated by computer algorithms.

Recording of Bernadette Johnson's Scyntillisuisse. This work explores the sounds of Swiss instruments, specifically from the areas of rural Switzerland. The composer compares their use of technological instruments with the discovery of fantastical creatures.

Recording of Per Arvidsson Bremmers' Derivative four - The Lore of Posterity. This work was written for electronics.

Recording of Hervé Déjardin's Evolu-Son. This work was created as part of the Festival Synthèse under the theme "Les Maîtres Sonneurs". The composer used recordings of the mechanical work of an artisan-weaver with more traditional music of village festivals mixed in.

Recording of Raphaël Panis' Udi tula. This electronics work is a small study based on a Hindu rhythm, "Adi Tâla", played on different synthesizers. The composer describes this piece as a Western transposition of a musical element coming from a foreign tradition. It is up to the listener to hear what they want from the piece and possibly detect something out of the ordinary.

Recording of Pavel Kopecký's Ritorni. This is a work for clarinet and electroacoustics. In order to create the richest unity between the two sounds, the composer formed the electroacoustic base entirely from modified clarinet samples. At the concert performance the sound of the soloist is recorded with a microphone and modified by a sound processor.

Recording of Yves Daoust's Temps Fixé. This work was commissioned by Media Arts Networks with the help of the Canada Council for the Arts. This work was inspired by a visit the composer made to a singer friend who now, as an elderly individual, lives in an assisted living facility. The composer was struck by the vision of "a worn man, deteriorated by time". The work represents not death but the idea of time and the unstoppable nature of it through the lens of a singer frozen in time at the height of their career.

Recording of Andy Birtwistle's Bambo intervention. This piece explores the ideological space between the bamboo flute and the tape recorder as well as between Western desires and Eastern traditions. This piece is structured around binaural soundscape recordings made in rural Taiwan. These field recordings stress authenticity of performance and the importance of location.

Recording of Pierre Boeswillwald's La Wal-Manichette. This work was premiered during a Synthèse Festival in Bourges under the appearance of a parody of a cultural radio program. The concept behind this work is "creation" and acts as a theatricalization of sound which is strictly in the domain of electroacoustics.
