The composer states that the Text-Soundcomposition is a sketch that slowly grew into a piece and that it holds a chronological structure with a beginning, middle, and end. Recording of Frederick L. Malouf's What it is ain't exactly clear.... This work is a "remix" of a recording the composer made at a family reunion in 1995. It is the third in a series that uses the same sound material, however in this piece the sounds are much more processed. The title comes from the lyrics to "For What It's Worth" by Stephen Stills which is about the turbulence in the 1960's. The composer also used family photos which were transformed into sound using the MetaSynth software program.

The concept behind the piece is the idea that we are all surrounded by waves constantly: the telephone, radio, television, etc. The composer focuses mainly on the importance of the radio over the last century by highlighting significant events and their broadcasts.

Recording of James Dashow's ...at other times, the distances. Quadraphonic electronic music. This work is a re-working of the electronic materials from FAR SOUNDS, BROKEN CRIES, for 12 instruments and electronic sounds. With the exception of a single cello note, the sounds were produced by the composer's MUSIC30 language for digital sound synthesis, and subsequently elaborated by additional signal processing.
