[Generations]

Photographs of the 1999-2000 artist's book competition winner "Generations," created by Teel Savage. The book is made from onion skin, flowers, and printed text that is adhered to handmade paper with wax coating. The “leaves” of book are circular in shape and bound with a single piece of twine that runs through the center of each leaf, creating a chain-like effect. It is housed in a circular hat box, decorated with handmade paper, flowers, and title, all adhered with wax coating. In the first image the circular onion pages are laid out in a circle, containing either presses flowers or pressed leaves. Starting at the top and going clockwise, words on seven of the circles are seen and say: Time, Cycle, Circle, Generations, Granddaughter, Rebirth, Descendant. Image 2, closeup of "Generations." Shown is a circle with two small green leaves pressed on it. The word "Generations" below it. Image 3, closeup of "Time" and "Cycle." One of the circles contains a pressed flower, the word Time below it. The other circle contains a pressed brown leaf, the word Cycle below it. Image 4, closeup of "Circle." The circle contains a pressed flower, which is titled Circle at the top.
