[The Thin Etched Line]

Photographs of the 1999-2000 artist's book competition honorable mention "The Thin Etched Line" created by Teel Savage. The volume is composed of fragments of intaglio prints of various styles and subjects, on which a single red line was added across every image. It is bound in white paper-covered boards with a red line, sewn Coptic style. The first image shows the bound book opened up. [Generations]

Photographs of the 1999-2000 artist's book competition winner "Generations," created by Teel Savage. The book is made from onion skin, flowers, and printed text that is adhered to handmade paper with wax coating. The “leaves” of book are circular in shape and bound with a single piece of twine that runs through the center of each leaf, creating a chain-like effect. It is housed in a circular hat box, decorated with handmade paper, flowers, and title, all adhered with wax coating. In the first image the circular onion pages are laid out in a circle, containing either presses flowers or pressed leaves. Starting at the top and going clockwise, words on seven of the circles are seen and say: Time, Cycle, Circle, Generations, Granddaughter, Rebirth, Descendant. Image 2, closeup of "Generations." Shown is a circle with two small green leaves pressed on it. The word "Generations" below it. Image 3, closeup of "Time" and "Cycle."
