The Breaking Of The Scream

Recording of José Halac's The Breaking Of The Scream. This work was inspired by a folk song from North West Argentina called "Baguala del Tigre" and a poem written by Argentine poet Pablo Anadon called "Seasons of the Tree". The main ideas from both of these works converge into this composition.

Photograph of a Margarita Becarra Cano standing in front of her artwork, Code X 187: The San Diego Wall, at the Mexic-Arte Museum in Austin, Texas. The exhibit ran from March 26th, 1999 to April 24th, 1999. Several dozen thin wooden figures hang from the ceiling. The figures appear to be men wearing hats and sad expressions; all are the same. Two white walls are visible and have writing on them in both Spanish and English, which is largely obscured by the hanging objects. Cano wears a gray shirt and blue pants.
