Comparison of neutron lifetimes as predicted by MCNP and DANTSYS
The prompt removal lifetime algorithm used in the latest version of MCNP was modified to conform with the neutron-balance definitions described by Spriggs et al. In accordance with the neutron-balance theory, the non-adjoint-weighted removal lifetime is given by where {Phi} is the angular neutron flux, v is the neutron velocity, {Sigma}{sub a} is the macroscopic absorption cross section, E is neutron energy, {Omega} is angle, and r is a spatial vector. The numerator in this expression represents the total neutron population in the system, N, and the denominator represents the total loss rate due to leakage and absorption.

Countries of the World and International Organizations: Sources of Information
This report provides a selection of materials for locating information on foreign countries and international organizations. In the general information section, it presents sources giving an overview of politics, economics, and recent history. A specialized information section cites sources on human rights, immigration, international organizations, military strengths, terrorism, and other topics. Included are titles of some of the most frequently consulted bibliographic sources that are available for use in many libraries. Electronic information on foreign countries is also provided, via the Internet, by agencies of the federal government, international organizations, and related sources. CSER 97-008: 327 Building hot cell and SERF one-gallon can criticality analysis
This CSER gives the limits for the storage of one-gallon cans in the hot cells and the SERF in the 327 Building. The 327 Building is used to perform post irradiation testing of fissionable materials in remotely manipulated hot cells. Historically, scrap pieces of fuel cladding, cleanup materials, and other items have been placed into one-gallon paint cans for storage and ultimately disposal. These cans of materials had been assumed to contain no (or essentially no) fissionable materials, and therefore were not specifically controlled for material accountability. Recently, eight cans with high radiation levels were selected to be assayed for content. These cans contained from 0 to 2.5 grams of fissionable material, with an average of 1 gram per can. Since several of the hot cells contained a significant quantity of the cans, concerns were raised as to whether a CPS nonconformance had occurred, and should the cans have some limits for operation placed on them. This analysis is a response to the concerns raised, and gives guidance for incorporating operating limits for the one-gallon waste cans.
