The summary describes all that had transpired at the DBAE Leadership conference, beginning with a speech from the Director of Getty Education Institute for the Arts, Leilani Lattin Duke. The context of the summary is positive, the recommendations from the conferences' discussion are being used by the Education Institute to inform long-range plans for educational reform, taking arts education into the next century.

To attend the conference as a participant, the teacher must be a member of TAEA, enclosed in the letter are membership forms. Stephens would like this event to be hospitable to visiting educators and would like to visit Schronk's next art meeting to beg her case before the teachers.

In the letter, which mentions previous correspondence between the two of a fax on April 30, 1997, the writer thanks Connie for the necessary information about the Ph.D. course in Art Education and that the Administration approved the Gulbenkian project which include a summer course. At the end of the letter is a list of specialists and educators who want to partake in the Gulbenkian project, the group which originally had five people in participant is up to seven. The writer asks Connie if there is room in the fees to pay for two more.

Letter from Tito Villalobos Moreno to Sterling Houston, prominent San Antonio playwright. He apologizes for not being able to accept Houston's invitation to a performance, but he was delayed in Mexico with affairs at the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center. He also thanks him for setting up a meet with Alicia Mena, with whom he is working with to complete a music project.

Letter from Nancy de Mattia to Sterling Houston, prominent San Antonio playwright. She writes from France, where business operations for Omero magazine have moved. Her position at the publication remains unclear, but it appears that an interview with Houston over one of his plays, the Modernization of Sainthood, has remained unpublished due to its controversial content. Nancy wishes to publish something less controversial.
