A collection of letters by army Dr. L. D. Collins from his tour of duty in World War II with the 56th Evacuation Hospital, chronicling his experiences and general history of WWII. He includes letters from his time stationed in Morocco, Tunisia, Italy, and Anzio Beach.

Coat of brown felted wool; box-like construction; below knee length; 2 patch pockets at hips; round neckline; open front with no fasteners. Coat has single seam construction; 1 down CB; 2 from behind shoulder at neckline to end of sleeves, with small slit at sleeve ends; 1 under sleeves which breaks into 2 under arm and goes down sides to hem of coat, seam goes through inner pocket. Unlined. Label: Oscar de la Renta, some blue ink #'s written on it; #3832 #1 "6"

Coat of dark green, green, dark pink, berry, dark blue, and purple quilted fabric with dark green knit interior and trim; 2 large patch pockets at hips. Cut like a tent coat; collarless with front opening and no fasteners. Quilting is in a swirly pattern with blocks of various colors in abstract shapes throughout. Label: "Oscar de la Renta"

Ensemble of brown velvet and satin. A) Dress. High round neckline; natural waist; fitted sleeves; fabric covered button on each cuff; 2 bust darts; bellow the knee length; zipper center back; 2 darts at back; lined in brown satin; No labels in dress. B) Jacket of brown velvet and satin; mid-calf length; velvet quilted to create a pebble-like print; round neckline; satin edging at neck, cuffs and pockets; banded pockets center front; no buttons; lined in brown satin; No labels in jacket. C) Belt of brown suede. Wide, curving belt with central 3" ornament of amber and tiger eye gems behind which is the hook. No marks on belt.

Blouse of black lace, sequins and velvet. Round neckline; sleeves and upper bodice of lace with floral patterned embroidery with sequins. Velvet over bust and lower bodice; black embroidery and sequins over bust. Waist darts. Bodice entirely covered in pearls and beads which gradually scatter and disappear as they move down the dress. Waist seam; snaps on left shoulder; side zipper. Seven total layers of tulle; underdress of nude silk taffeta and chiffon. Strapless bodice with boning and side zipper.
