If I had some notes to say to introduce the listening, I would say that it is an entertaining music, almost "light" and a sound portrait of Vienna. The argument: a departure by train for Vienna and a wandering in the city. This music, I thought of it as a great resonance of meaning and sounds (the orchestrations of "Orient Express" are disseminated in each subsequent section). And then I tried to make polyphonies of "Acoustic Images" using very different materials: words with meaning, voice and languages, everyday sounds, sound objects or abstract frames, scenes played or scenes of life, song, culturally significant fragments ... And to make these universes meet, I looked for reports of writing spaces, rhythms and flow, stamps ...

Paradigms I: softly through the night

Recording of Eric Lyon's Paradigms I: softly through the night. The Paradigms series reflects the results of a constant effort to increase the expressive effectiveness of computer music. Paradigms I is a strict attempt to expand small sounds into larger ones. Each sound heard in the work draws its origins from 8 synthetic "friends" each comprising 8,192 samples. A mix of mixing, editing, processing and aesthetic evaluation led to the final result.

Feuerwasser

This piece also uses analog tape, many electronic sounds and harmonies.

Recording of Rodrigo Cicchelli Velloso's Autumn space. This piece relates to the coexistence of the differently contrasting and even contradictory elements we experience in Autumn. The technique used to create these sounds was based on the DSP functions available on the computer used. It is mainly a radical process of filtering transposed sounds by boosting frequencies.

Recording of Bruno Capelle's Gabrakan. This piece is built on the principle of false periodicity. It is a rhythmic or even polyrhythmic work. Formulas are gradually being built, robbing those that preceded them and which will in turn be destroyed. The clear polyrhythm is due to the differentiation of the timbres of the morphologies used. The general shape of this piece can be summed up as a “great” tension - relaxation.

Magna Sin

The Turning of the Tide

Recording of Eduardos Reck Miranda's The Turning of the Tide. The sounds of the piece can be divided into two main groups: continuous sounds and discrete sounds. Continuity is given by the vowel-like sounds, which were digitally synthesized using three synthesis techniques: frequency modulation, wave shaping and formant synthesis. Articulation, on the other hand, is produced by noise-like sounds generated by the violin, samples of the composer's speech, and amplitude modulation using an analogue synthesizer. The two computer programs used are CAMUS and a format Synthesizer.

Recording of Lelio Camilleri's Dedicated to you but you aren't listening. The basic material of the piece is made up of drum sounds (cymbals and snare drums) and the voice and sounds of the song by Soft Machine "Dedicated to you but you weren't listening". The attention has been focused on a few very short excerpts of the song that have been modified, but that conserve their melodic shape. The piece is structured into four parts and uses a S-550 Roland sampler.
