If I had some notes to say to introduce the listening, I would say that it is an entertaining music, almost "light" and a sound portrait of Vienna. The argument: a departure by train for Vienna and a wandering in the city. This music, I thought of it as a great resonance of meaning and sounds (the orchestrations of "Orient Express" are disseminated in each subsequent section). And then I tried to make polyphonies of "Acoustic Images" using very different materials: words with meaning, voice and languages, everyday sounds, sound objects or abstract frames, scenes played or scenes of life, song, culturally significant fragments ... And to make these universes meet, I looked for reports of writing spaces, rhythms and flow, stamps ...

Recording of Eric Lyon's Paradigms I: softly through the night. The Paradigms series reflects the results of a constant effort to increase the expressive effectiveness of computer music. Paradigms I is a strict attempt to expand small sounds into larger ones. Each sound heard in the work draws its origins from 8 synthetic "friends" each comprising 8,192 samples. A mix of mixing, editing, processing and aesthetic evaluation led to the final result.

Recording of Frank Schweizer's Feuerwasser. This work is the experiment to combine kinds of radio samples with the use of traditional electronic composition. It is trying to connect a chain of associations in an abstract music. The musical parts of the work consist of concert material, but in the combination of them the result is more than the individual parts.

Recording of Robert Eidschun's Contact fringe. This piece refers to arriving at the ultimate reality, after a journey through seven musical sections; "to the afternoon"; "Sudden Trolling"; "New Moons"; "the Orotundra"; "New Moons II (skirting on seams)"; "White Vestibule"; "Deafening Wake." This piece also uses analog tape, many electronic sounds and harmonies.

Recording of Rodrigo Cicchelli Velloso's Autumn space. This piece relates to the coexistence of the differently contrasting and even contradictory elements we experience in Autumn. The technique used to create these sounds was based on the DSP functions available on the computer used. It is mainly a radical process of filtering transposed sounds by boosting frequencies.

Recording of Bruno Capelle's Gabrakan. This piece is built on the principle of false periodicity. It is a rhythmic or even polyrhythmic work. Formulas are gradually being built, robbing those that preceded them and which will in turn be destroyed. The clear polyrhythm is due to the differentiation of the timbres of the morphologies used. The general shape of this piece can be summed up as a “great” tension - relaxation.

Recording of Jacques Tremblay's L'intrus au chapeau de spleen. This piece is about a character: its unconscious prowling and looking for a way out to interfere in the cracked wall of memory, the unconscious walking, trampling and cracking the past. This piece explores the possibilities of using samples and varying amounts of sound effects.

Recording of Marc Pichelin's Hurlante. This piece uses samples and recordings to create a mysterious soundscape about the idea of wondering within the universe. The use of electro-acoustic technique allows for the listener to have a wide listening space with contrasting musical conversation.

Recording of Jean-François Cavro's Traverser les galaxies blessées pour christal et hautbois. Performers must be willing to play 2 instruments (cristal and oboe), sonorities, and different factors. The composer recommends performers work on the virtuosity, the roughness, and the attack of the oboe as related to the timbre of the cristal.

Recording of Daniel Paul Rodger's Thak (Chastity in the time of syphillis). This piece is a meditative piece, to be used as a spiritual exercises in which the mind of the shakuhachi-player was awakened to a higher state of consciousness. The piece features a shakuhachi and tape.

Recording of Serge Morand's Parfums d'Axiome. This piece uses sound manipulation and dynamics to explore the possibilities of processed sound. Throughout the piece the sounds seem as if they have musical conversation.

Recording of Michael Kapoulas's Portraits. This piece uses traditional electronic technique to change the fundamental sounds used. There is metallic and harsh sounds, short static sound bits, long sustained harmonies, and many large changes in dynamics.

Recording of Simon Hall's Les oiseaux, le feu, sacre bleu! The sound material in this piece is rather diverse ranging from orchestral instruments to bell and wineglasses. These sounds are combined with synthesized sounds and material samples from Stravinsky's "Rite of spring", "Firebird"; and Buddy Rich and Maynard Ferguson Big Band cds. The structure of this piece is essentially one of continuous development.

Recording of Gabriela Ortiz's Magna Sin. This piece consists of of five rhythmic-melodic section. The tape functions as any other instrument and requires synchronization with the percussionist. The main components are tape, steel drum, flute multiphones, metal objects, guitar strokes, other percussion instruments, and all of these sounds are electronically manipulated.

Recording of Emmanuel Madan's Aram Nal. Aram Nal is a popular Punjabi expression meaning "restfully, peacefully, without hurting". The piece is the product of two contrasting inspirations: firstly, the sound of Balinese Gamelan Gong Kebyar, and the passage between contrasting spaces. The crescendo throughout the piece is the form.

Recording of Eduardos Reck Miranda's The Turning of the Tide. The sounds of the piece can be divided into two main groups: continuous sounds and discrete sounds. Continuity is given by the vowel-like sounds, which were digitally synthesized using three synthesis techniques: frequency modulation, wave shaping and formant synthesis. Articulation, on the other hand, is produced by noise-like sounds generated by the violin, samples of the composer's speech, and amplitude modulation using an analogue synthesizer. The two computer programs used are CAMUS and a format Synthesizer.

Recording of Robert Dow's Le Lethe. The piece features tape and flute. Overall, the piece is quite slow and eerie. The tape and flute are consistently together and there if often times contrasting fragments of sound in between the unison tape and flute.

Recording of Gilles Mercier's Metamorfosis del sonido. This piece uses orchestral instruments and electronic processing and sounds. The electronic sounds are uses to create harmonies, ambient soundscapes, dialogue, and interruptions.

Recording of François Giraudon's L'invisible. This piece is for strings, live processing, and tape. L'invisible is based on the transfusion and possibilities of concrete sounds of double bass, violin, and synthetic sounds.

Recording of Lelio Camilleri's Memory Lane. The piece is based on an improvisation on Caravan's piece "Memory Lain, Hugh". The sound gesture have several characteristics: energetic, circular movement, and rich spectrum. The sound has been processed in order to obtain sound gestures of different shapes. The piece is divided into 2 main parts, each offering different sound aspects for movement, gesture and texture characteristics.

Recording of Francesco Giomi's Chromatism. This piece is for tape and is a suite of 6 small pieces. The starting point of the work is the author's research on the analysis of electroacoustic music based on the concept of the sound object. The piece also incorporates some experiences in the field of the interaction of music and images.

Recording of Lelio Camilleri's Dedicated to you but you aren't listening. The basic material of the piece is made up of drum sounds (cymbals and snare drums) and the voice and sounds of the song by Soft Machine "Dedicated to you but you weren't listening". The attention has been focused on a few very short excerpts of the song that have been modified, but that conserve their melodic shape. The piece is structured into four parts and uses a S-550 Roland sampler.
