Cason writes that she and Bill McCarter enjoyed meeting up with Brooks and Janice Wiggins to discuss the goals for the DISD students. Cason she has also spoken with Marjorie King and mentioned how King was helpful in explaining Dallas's reading initiative program. Canson hopes that Wiggins will be able to participate in the Institute this summer and that the stipend will be worth the contribution for the impact she'll make to the Institute.

Inviting him to be a advisory committee member of North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts. Davis and McCarter writes that being a member of the advisory committee they will periodically review the activities of the Institute and serve as liaison between the community and the Institute, which serves as stepping stone towards comprehensive visual arts program being integrated in school districts. Included in the letter are details about what to expect from being a committee member and the types of meetings they hope to have during the following year. Davis and McCarter write that they are excited about the opportunity to improve the quality of visual arts for students and develop a more informed audience. A paper that documents the answers from the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts 1990 Summer Institute questionnaire. The pre-assessment questions were answered on a scale from 'Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor, Invalid' and varied from person to persons opinion on the certain questions. Such questions focused on how the respondents felt about issues within art education. The post-assessment questions allowed respondents to write down their full opinion to 3 questions and give comments.
