In the interview, Bessie primarily discusses her experiences concerning the activities of the Denton Christian Women's Inter-Racial Fellowship during the 1960s and 1970s. She explains what it was like growing up in a segregated and racist society. Bessie also comments on the early days of the Fellowship, social activities of the Fellowship, street paving in the African-American section of Denton, urban renewal, the integration of neighborhoods, the desegregation of Denton public schools and facilities, and various political activities. Biographical information is also included in the interview.
