The stone marker commemorates the journey taken by participants of the Texas Sesquicentennial Wagon Train, it reads, "The Texas Sesquicentennial Wagon Train camped here. Circling the state for six months and traveling over 3,000 miles. It visited over 150 villages and towns as a living exhibit of Texas's western heritage." The marker also includes the path taken by these people during their journey.
