Modified batwing sleeves with cuffs having single self-covered button and hidden snap. Wide, shaped band at lower hem of blouse, with pointed sections at front, curving up at sides, and back down at center back. Center back with DEEP inner vent. Unlined. Designer's label at inside back collar: "Hanae Mori / Boutique" B) Skirt. Below-knee length A-line skirt with narrow waist band having hook-and-bar and concealed snap at center back, below which is zipper. Fully lined in brown silk(?) Gathered at the waist with an interior elastic band. Long, fitted sleeves with snap at cuff; hem piped in pink satin. Eight self-covered buttons and loops down center back with hook & eye. Pink silk crepe lining; shoulder pads. Designer's label at center back neckline: "Hanae Mori / Boutique" Fiber content tag at base of designer label. Evidence of another tag behind fiber content tag; tag removed. B) Sash for dress in pink satin; 3" wide.

Stanbrough discusses his time in the Guard before the war, deployment to the Pacific, the fall of Java and being captured, experiences in internment at Tanjong Priok and Bicycle Camp in Batavia, operating a clandestine radio, transfer to Japan, being an iron smelter at Kamaishi, Honshu, American air and naval bombardment, and liberation.
