From purpose and scope: The purpose of this study are to derive base flow estimates for representative parts of the Cretaceous and Tertiary clastic outcrop area as an aid in estimating recharge to the sand aquifers; to use base flow relations to estimate aquifer hydraulic parameters; and to relate the lithology of the aquifer to the streamflow duration curves.

Results of a Test Well in the Nanafalia Formation Near Melvin, Choctaw County, Alabama

Purpose and scope: The purpose of this report is to assemble and present hydrologic and geologic data collected by the U.S. Geological Survey during the drilling and testing of the test well. Hydrogeologic data collected are presented in tables, graphs, and diagrams. These data include lithologic, geophysical, and sample logs, and the results of aquifer tests and chemical analyses of ground water.
