[Photograph of a Man at a Syrup Mill]
Copy negative of a man working at an early twentieth century syrup mill converting sugar cane into cane syrup; a child is sitting on a stack of sugar cane next to him. The cane is inserted into the mill and the juice is squeezed out of it by a mule walking in a circle. Behind the mill, men are standing by a vat of boiling juice becoming syrup. This mill was located near Wilson, Texas in Comanche County.
