Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Bumper stickers have come a long, long way since the Alf Landon sunflower, an invitation to "Eat Beef" and that start-of-school warning, "Watch That Child." Today you can get everything from a blush to a chuckle to a gummy bumber out of these attempmts at humor on the move. And, it isn't just the folks with a political message or a sick joke. who take to their bumpers with their message. Evangelism, even, is having a bumper crop. "If You Love Jesus, Honk," is one improbable message. "One Way," says another, with a finger pointing toward heaven. All this and the bumper-sticking season is just starting. Election year makes dividends of companies that make bumper stickers - and for emporiums after the election as the losers try to eradicate proof they rode the wrong horse. They cover up their embarrasment by sticking on those "Don't Blame Me" stickers."

Trooper Jim Sigler said Haddix was traveling north on I-35, four miles south of Norman when he apparently dozed off and veered to the right. The truck demolished 24 feet of steel guard rail and 12 feet of concrete bridge railing before becoming airborne for about 50 feet. The truck flipped one and a half times."

Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "Is a new series of bombings under way in northeastern Oklahoma? That was the question local, state and federal investigators were wrestling with Sunday on the heels of a mystery explosion which tore through the roof of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Club on the outskirtts of this Creek County city last Saturday night. Jack McKenzie, a pecial investigator for the district attorney's office, said the latest explosion closely parallels last Tuesday's blast which ripped the roof of the American National Bank at Bristow...There were no deaths or injuries in the earlier explosions, but in Saturday night's blast at the Sapulpa VFW club, one person was killed and 15 others were injured seriously enough to require hospital treatment. They were taken to Sapulpa, Tulsa and Claremore hospitals......In a bombing incident which claimed the life of a Bristow schoolteacher Mrs. Fern Bolding early last year, Rex Brinice is serving a life sentence in the state penitentiary at McAlester. Brinlee, a Tahlequah private club operator, was convicted of planting a bomb which took Mrs. Bolding's life as she started the family pickup to drive to work. (photo tag: Treasury agents examine …

Now, it is about to be finished, and Oklahoma City public events officials are busy lining up attractions to follow the opening in October. A committee of civic leaders has been appointed by Mayor Latting to chart a gala opening to include top-name entertainment, a state-wide press preview and public tours. One word describes the Myriad best. It's BIG. The center covers most of a four-square-block in the heart of downtown......The Myriad has more floor space than the 35-story Liberty Tower soaring above it to the north. It has 950,000 square feet of space above the ground and 575,000 below. More than 1,140 automobiles can park in the underground lot."
