Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Oklahoma State is favored to win the Big Eight and could win the national championship this fall 0 in cross country. It's a strange event where the low score wins (points are awarded on placing, with the winner getting one point, second two, etc.) and it's a grueling four-mile run. Saturday the Pokes finished 1-3-5-6-18 to clainm their own jamboree title with 33 points. John Halberstadt of O-State ran an 18:18.4 four-mile to clain the individual title. Times photographer Jim Argo was there and here's what he saw. (photo tag: They're all together at the start but it doesn't take long for the field to get strung out. "We didn't want anyone to get away from us at the start of the race," said winner John Halberstadt who set a Jamboree record last Saturday.)"
