A magazine page (23) taken from "The Santa Gertrudis Journal" dated July 1971. The page is in reference to a letter 2000.034.044a. The page shows an advertisement for breeders of �Polled Santa Gertrudis Cattle and lists Ranches and Farms that offer the sale of these cattle. Mamie E. George Ranch is listed in the bottom right corner of the page (23). In this particular article, the "Ballenger Farms" cattle were featured. The Ballenger Farm information was marked through with a black crayon.

Final draft of a speech by John J. Herrera, Past President of League of United Latin American Citizens, to be given during National LULAC Week on February 13, 1971 at Rice Hotel in Houston, Texas. In this speech celebrating the 42nd birth of LULAC, Herrera discusses this history of the organization and their successes in fighting "discrimination against the Latin-Americans of Mexican descent." Herrera intersperses his discussion of the history with personal stories. This copy of the speech appears to be the one that Herrera used to give the speech and includes the final minor edits he made prior to presenting his speech. On the back of the final page, Herrera made a handwritten list of English words and their Spanish equivalent.
