Twenty-two young Oklahoma City women made their debuts at the party sponsored by the Beaux Arts Societe as a benefit for the acquistion fund of the Oklahoma Art Center. He said the landfill operator reported a long line of people waiting to dump Sunday. Some of them decided not to wait and instead got rid of their trash along the roadside."

White, Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority (OCURA) director, said the seven-year project, if approved, would be one of the largest in the United States. The City Council will be asked Tuesday to approve an application for a $1.4 million federal grant to detail planning of the project, generally known as the 1-B phase of downtown urban renewal. If the application is approved by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban deleopment (HUD), White said, HUD will set aside $66.7 million as the federal share of the 1-B project cost......The 1-B project would extend urban renewal activities north to NW 6 and west of the 1-A area to Western between NW 6 and SW 3......Under urban designer I. M. Pei's plan, new facilities in 1-B would include the remainder of the 30-acre Myriad Gardens; and enclosed four-block retail complex known as the Galleria; additional office buildings, and a residential area housing 3,000 to 5,000 persons."
