Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Lawton and Edmond brought about a bit of reshuffling in last night's high school football action, the Wolverines, ranked second in Class 4A, used the running of Edward Gholson and Roger Williamson and Edmond the rushing of Jim Melot and Paul Drake to climb atop the Boomer and Metropolitan Confrence respectively. Gholson romped for 172 yards on 33 carries while Williamson added 116 on 21 and three touchdowns in a 31-14 rout of defending Boomer champion Norman. The loss dropped the Tigers out of the lead and let Lawton take sole possession of first place. Melot zipped his way to 181 yards in 29 carries and added one touchdown and Drake scored two, including a 62-yarder, to lift the Bulldogs past Choctaw 28-13, Edmond however, must share the top spot with Yukon, which scored a 48-0 rout of Crooked Oak with James Posey scoring twice for the Millers with five teammates dividing the other scores."
