Story includes recollections from Ardmoreites of events involving Garrett, his work in keeping peace in early Ardmore, his wife "Ma" Garrett, returning Clar Smith Hamon to Ardmore for trial, and many accounts of his generosity and concern. It is reported he never killed a man during his years in law enforcement, but had many fights.
