Photograph used for a story in the Oklahoma City Times newspaper. Caption: "Flames shoot up through roof of house. Fire raged through a vacant northwest Oklahoma City duplex early Wednesday destroying new carpet and some antique furniture and causing an estimated $10,000 damage. District Chief George Rummel said the blaze started in the basement of the two-story duplex at 1619 NW 17, went up the stairways and out the roof. Rummel said the cause of the fire is still undetermined. He said the house was locked and there was no evidence of a break-in. He said he does not suspect arson at this time. Rummel said a resident who lived next door to the duplex came home about midnight but did not spot any fire. The fire alarm was sounded at 12:58 a.m....Rummel said the owner, Jack Harry, was remodeling the duplex, and piles of new carpeting ready to be laid and some antique furniture were damaged in the fire..."The carpet around around the floor furnaces was still intact," Rummel said."
