Correlations are drawn between this radioactivity and the geology of the region.

Letter from Harris Leon Kempner to Mr. and Mrs. Andre Carrette as Mrs. Kempner asked Harris to drop a note to show how pleased they're to have Francois. He mentions that Francois and Shrub left to tour Washington, New York, and Boston so that he can realize there's more to the Unites States than just Texas. Harris mentions that they're please to see him before he leaves as they have his plane ticket and a suitcase.

Letter from Harris Leon Kempner, Jr., to Francois Carette mentioning that he wouldn't be disturbing any of his projects if he comes to visit America. In fact making his stay as pleasant as possible would be the only project. He mentions that he's currently working with his father now and attending Graduate School of Business at Stanford University, in California.

Letter from Harris Leon Kempner to Shrub handing him the note from Ceci which came along with 30 shares of Imperial Voting Trust Certificates and 100 shares of Sugarland Industries as a gift. He asks him to write a letter thanking her. He requests him to write about how the wedding in Boston went and how he is, and also includes what he's been up to lately. He then also reminds Shrub about Muggin's and Uncle Lee's birthdays.

Letter from Julian L. Schley to I. H. Kempner expressing pleasure in informing Ike that he and Hennie expect to be in Washington around the first of May and suggests setting aside time to update each other on various personal and global affairs, including those of Galveston. The letter mentions that they have spent the winter visiting friends in Palm Beach and enjoying outdoor activities.
