Evening gown of black wool boucle trimmed with black fur (mink?) around neckline. Long gown, high neckline in front, sleeveless, low cut back with "tail" of fur at bottom of back. Boned understructure.

Dress of navy blue with navy blue wool twill coat embellished with silver buttons. a) Coat of navy blue wool twill with convertible collar. Single breasted with 5 silver domed buttons and welt buttonholes. Inseam pockets at front sides. Shaped 3/4 length sleeves. Street length. Back has one large inverted box pleated topped with two matching buttons at back waist. Lined in navy blue acetate. Designer's label at inside center back neckline: "Balenciaga / 10, Avenue George V. Paris" Couture number stamped on back of designer's label: "6789" b) Dress of navy wool crepe. Short sleeves. Wide jewel neckline. Center front princess arched panel. Center back lapped zipper. Two front shoulder darts and four back neck darts. Knee length. Lined in black silk. Designer's label at inside center front neckline: "EISA"

Evening clutch style purse of pink crepe in rectangular shape with pink top-stitching. Hidden snap closure. Accordion fold body; lined in pink satin with split patch pocket. No labels. Measurements: Width: 10 1/4" Height: 4 1/2" Depth: 1"

Hat of black silk chiffon. The hat is formed from a cylindrical pillbox style hat surmounted by a conical section that is folded back and flares out to form an extension behind the hat. Where the surmounting piece meets the pillbox is a black bow formed from the same cloth. Inside of crown is lined in stiff black netting, and has a black grosgrain ribbon running along the base of the crown. A small plastic comb is sewn in front of hat to inner ribbon to secure it to wearer's head. No labels. The donor records that "... Balenciaga showed it with dress and sleeveless coat..."

Navy wool draped backward over crown turned under and gathered at lower back edge of crown (back resembles a snood).

Hat of black silk tulle and satin in the form of a low pillbox of black silk tulle, tapering slightly to the shallow-domed crown. On the right side is a cascade of dyed green ostrich feathers.

Pillbox hat of black silk satin with a puff of ostrich feathers at right side. Organza bow atop feathers.

Pillbox hat of black silk faille. The cylindrical crown is flat at top, and has one large ruby red silk rose at center front of the side. Lined in black satin, with a single comb inside to secure hat to wearer's head.

Two-piece suit of charcoal gray wool.

Evening dress of champagne hand appliqued lace over fine net.

Jacket of black satin and black mink fur. Short, cropped jacket with high rounded neckline and full-length set-in sleeves made in heavy silk satin. Center front opening without closure devices. Neckline, front opening and cuffs trimmed in black mink fur. Fully lined in black silk. Designer's label at inside center back below collar: "Made in France / Automne-Hiver 1962 / Christian Dior / Paris" Style number stamped on label: "117880"

And he might do that same thing at the end of the year after getting married and taking his wife back to Morocco with him.

Letter from Harris Leon Kempner to David's ordering few more shirts similar to the ones they made for Kempner when he was in Paris. So, he requests them to send few samples to choose from.

Letter from Harris Leon Kempner to Francois Carrette regarding the cable they sent for Shrub. He mentions that Shrub hasn't left California but will arrive by Sunday or Monday and he'll take it. He asks for their travel plans from France so they'd meet.

Letter from Harris Leon Kempner to Jean Louis Pesle introducing Dr. and Mrs. Howard Swann and Mr. Arthur Graham's kids as they're planning to take a trip to Europe.
