Center front opening with 4 circular self-covered buttons and bound buttonholes, arranged in pairs, with rectangular cut-out, between. Long sleeves. Lined in black satin. Designer's label at inside back neckline: "Balenciaga / 10 Avenue George V Paris" with handwritten label behind "53397" B) Evening gown. Strapless, full-length gown with wide neckline. Neckline edged with wide band of white ermine. Left side zipper from armpit, with 6 hook-and-eyes at inner boned structure. 3 hook and eyes on ermine trim. Raised waist. Straight skirt. Bodice lined in silk. Designer's label at right side seam of bodice: "Balenciaga / 10 Avenue George V Paris". Handwritten tag behind designer's label: "53398"

Pillbox hat of finely woven white straw. The cylindrical crown is flat at top and slopes slightly at sides. Around sides of crown is wide band of off-white organdy, which is tied as a large bow at front. The hat is unlined, with inner white grosgrain ribbon hatband. Retailer's label: "Neiman-Marcus".
