Listeners didn't talk much while the boys sang, but the truck moved on each time, preceeded by a police car with sirens open, the exclamations were many. "Weren't their voices sweet?" "Wasn't that lovely?" "Makes it seem more like Christmas." they were, it was and it did."

The organization's 9-story building, at 320 Park Ave., may be sold. The board of directors has announced it will accept offers on the building, which for 30 years has housed working girls and provided space for a variety of activities for people of all ages. But since the announcement sentiment against the building's sale has been expressed, according to Mrs. A. J. Haswell, YWCA president. She and Miss Gertrude McMorran, executive director, point out that whether or not the building is sold will depend on the offers recieved and mainly upon a study now being made to determine how YW can best serve the community......The association started its operation in a few rooms in the upstairs of a building at 124 W Main where a plaque still hangs at the entrance commemorating the event. it continued there from 1907 until 1912 when it moved to 112 NW 2, now the Berg apartments. Carl K. bates, state capitol improvement and zoning chairman, said a "co-operative arrangement" has been worked out with city officials at allow traffic to continue between NE 23 and NE 24 as long as possible. However, Bates said, the state is buying new traffic signals to go up at Lindsay and Stiles on NE 23 for eventual re-routing of traffing around theat portion of N Lincoln between NE 23 and NE 24....As explained by irvin Hurst, zoning commission chairman, when the two blocks are closed, traffic will be split at NE 24. Southbound traffic will go west a block to Stiles, then south to the new light on NE 23 at the Lindsay light, go north two blocks on Lindsay, then back to Lincoln on NE 24...Bates said traffic signs have been put up to slow vehicles through construction area "to lessen likelihood of accidents, and it seems to be working out all right."
