Photograph taken for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "When women walk into the shoe shop of William Cherry and are greeted, "good morning, pretty lady," some become indignant, others smile. Almost immediately they learn the voice comes from an improvised tree, sheltered in a corner of the shop. It is from this location that 'Jasper' greets customers daily. Not an ordinary parrot, Jasper can trace his ancestry back to more than 100 years ago, and has his master to thank for his existence."
