He announces his plans to run for re-election asking for continued support and offers the Season's Greetings.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from E. M. Collier, Administrator, Hendrick Memorial Hospital dated December 6, 1961. The letter contains a notification by Collier of a meeting of the Trustees which has been called by Mr. Anderson. Building plans for the new addition are to be presented to the Board.

A letter written to Dr. Preston E. Harrison, Big Spring State Hospital, from T. N. Carswell. Carswell advises Harrison of attached checks to cover his January, 1962 accounts for Mrs. Byrdie Carswell and requests advice from Harrison regarding some reading glasses for Byrdie suggesting an exam be given by a local optometrist. The reverse side shows the letter to be written on hte reverse side of Little Tuffy Mfg. Co. letterhead.

Carswell advises of his privilege to have heard both of the addresses given by Hays during his visit to Abilene and requests a copy of the poem, written by an Australian World War II pilot, that he used at the Hardin-Simmons University address.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell, Abilene, Texas from Cecil G. Goff, Recording Secretary/Director of Statistical Services, Executive Board, Baptist General Convention of Texas dated November 22, 1961. Goff advises that Carswell has been elected for a three year term as trustee of Hendrick Memorial Hospital of Abilene.

A letter written to Sarah Anna Simmons Crane from T. N. Carswell, dated November 6, 1961. Carswell expresses his appreciation for the letter from Sarah Anna. He advises that he has enclosed a check, to let it be a Christmas Present, and that her use and enjoyment of it will be her Christmas present to him. Carswell advises of a suggestion made by Dr. Reiff, that Simmons provide a marker for her grave and the corner stone taken from Anna Hall be placed in the new Student Union building.

Pitt references a letter from Carswell in which he requested a complete statement of his account. She provides an outline of his account noting the increase of the daily rate and apologizes for any confusion for which they are responsible.

A letter written to Sarah Anna Simmons Crane, from T. N. Carswell, dated September 15, 1961. Carswell advises Crane regarding the corner stone taken from Anna Hall when the building was demolished and replaced by the new Students Union Building, and he reports on contents found in a time capsule. He reminds Crane of the vote taken by the Trustees to give the corner stone to her but advises her that Mr. Caldwell suggested the stone be preserved here by placing it in an interior wall of the new building now going up. Carswell advises that they all want to do what will be most pleasing to her.

A letter written to Mr. T. N. Carswell from Leslie R. Bonner, Claims Representative, Big Spring State Hospital, Big Spring, Texas, dated September 13, 1961. Advisement of a price increase due to increased costs for Byrdie Carswell Support, Maintenance and Treatment Account. Handwritten note by Carswell at bottom of page advises that on September 28, 1961 a check was mailed for October.

A letter written to T. N. Carswell from P. D. O'Brien, Pastor, First Baptist Church, Big Spring, Texas, dated July 26, 1961. O'Brien expresses his pleasure at having the occasion to meet and fellowship with Carswell even if only briefly all these years and reminisces about the "good days at old Simmons College". He expresses his pleasure in doing the favor [witnessing Mrs. Carswell's signature] and for the check which he put into the building fund "hoping it will yield dividends for all eternity".

A letter written to Mrs. Crane, 114 E. 90 Street, New York, New York c/o Venza from Neil B. Watson, Superintendent, The Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn 32, N.Y. Watson replies to a letter from Crane dated July 24, 1961 and advises her regarding local monument firms that she may contact for the information as to costs of a marker. Crane handwrites to Carswell at the bottom left of the page advising that the information needed by her and Carswell was obtained over the telephone later.

A letter written to Brother "Dick" [Dr. P. D. O'Brien], Pastor, First Baptist Church, Big Spring, Texas, from T. N. Carswell, dated July 21, 1961. Carswell expresses his appreciation for the service he and Mrs. O'Brien rendered in witnessing Mrs. Carswell's signature to her will requesting that he use the enclosed check for the enlargement plans of their Church.
