Her condition was listed as serious. The other passenger, Mrs. Irene Anderson, 47, of 115 N Tuttle, was treated for minor burns. The cab driver, John Johnson, 34, of 114 N Harrison, was treated for face and hand burns. Chief Roach said the cab's butane fuel tank had been filled at company headquarters, 1414 W Main. "Apperantly," he theorized, "fumes accumulated inside the cab and were ignited by a spark of some kind. All occupants were blown from the car." The taxi was a total loss, Roach said."
