Caption: "A gasoline transport truck being filled at General Facilities, Inc., 4700 NE 10, exploded into flames late Monday and momitarily threatened several oil tanks in that vicinity. Damage was estimated at $18,000 on the truck and $1,500 on the terminal. Only major loss however was the big truck owned by Groendyke Transport Inc. By the time Oklahoma City and Del City firemen brought the blaze under control, the truck was destroyed. The driver, Harry Hughes, 33, of 8513 NE 28, was not injured. For nearly half an hour firefighters battled leaping flames to prevent them from setting off surrounding stills...............Hughes told firemen he had put two feeder lines into the truck's gasoline compartments, and then walked to the opposite side of the loading dock. "There must have been about 2,000 gallons of gas in the truck when she blew," he said.
