This study was designed to determine the utilization of the sick leave program of a large city school system by teachers according to sex, age, experience, tenure, training, residence, and teaching assignment, and to determine if current sick leave allowances were adequate.

It shall be the purpose of this study to continue this delineation of the dynamics of anxiety. An attempt shall be made to study the nature of anxiety, especially in elementary school children, as it relates to three other factors: namely, intelligence, self-concept and ordinal birth position.

The problem of this study was to compare the attitudes toward youth of students enrolled in two selected programs of student teaching at North Texas State College.

Questions that need to be answered are (1) Is academic success or failure related to change of major? (2) Is mental ability associated with change of major? (5) Is inadequate occupational information related to change of major? (6) Do social reasons such as a desire for a vocation with greater prestige, increasing interest in being of service to people, or having to conform to the wishes of parents and relatives relate to change of major?

The problem of this study was to determine what relationship, if any, exists between middle-grade children's general and expressed interests in certain stories contained in selected reading textbooks and the developmental value of the stories. Specifically, three sub-problems were involved, as follows: 1. To determine the developmental value of certain stories found in selected reading textbooks. 2. To determine the general and expressed interests of children in the stories. 3. To compare the general and expressed interests of the children in the stories with the developmental value of the stories.

The purpose of this study was to make as analysis of the relationship between dominative-integrative classroom behavior and the mean scores on selected measures of socio-civic attitudes of students at North Texas State College preparing to teach the social studies during the year 1960-61.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationships between certain personality traits and leadership actions of elementary school principals. To achieve this purpose it was necessary first to obtain a description of the leadership actions of elementary school principals. Second, it was necessary to obtain data concerning the personalities of these elementary school principals. Third, the significance of the relationships between personality and leadership actions was tested statistically. Fourth, the significant relationships between personality and leadership actions were expressed in the form of mathematical equations so that predictions concerning leader behavior could be made.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of segregation on the flexibility of individuals in the Negro and Anglo-American ethnic groups and to investigate the relationship between variations in flexibility and sociometric choices within the peer group.

The problem of this study is threefold: (1) to determine whether the sick leave policies and practices differ significantly between school districts of different sizes; (2) to determine whether there is significant relationship between the number of days of sick leave allowed and the number of days taken by teachers; and (3) to determine whether significant trends in sick leave policies and practices can be detected between the years 1957 and 1960.

It was the purpose of this study to determine the present general status, thought, and practice of the elementary school principalship in Texas public school districts. To compare certain aspects of the present principalship with similar characteristics as found in previous studies of the Texas elementary principalship in order to determine trends. 4. To compare certain aspects of the Texas elementary principalship with the same aspects of the elementary principalship as described in a recent national study, in order to determine similarities and differences.

The problem of this study was to determine the effectiveness of student-centered teaching in producing significant changes in certain critical thinking abilities among selected freshmen students at North Texas State College.

The present study was made to determine the relationship between the level of teaching effectiveness of beginning elementary teachers and three individual characteristics of prospective teachers. The problem of this study was to determine and analyze the relationships between teacher morale as determined by the Group Dimensions Descriptions Questionnaire and the ability to establish rapport with pupils as determined by the Minnesota Teacher Attitude Inventory. This study serves two aims: (1) to evaluate the results of role playing on relevant criteria, and (2) to evaluate these same results from the standpoint of a particular frame of reference, namely that of religious education.

The problem of this study is to compare the present practice in the field of leadership education in certain representative local Methodist Churches in the Central Texas Conference with 1) the procedures recommended by the Methodist Church, and 2) the specific needs of the local churches.
