Photograph used for a newspaper owned by the Oklahoma Publishing Company. Caption: "First Oklahoma City-made steel was poured into ingots Wednesday at the new $700,000 Hoster Steel Corp. Mill, 1600 S May. When the electric arc furnace was tapped shortly after 3 p.m., the mill officialy began the first phase of its shakedown run. The rolling mill section of the plant is still to be completed but actual production of steel will continue at an accelerated pace to stockpile ingots, W. H. Hoster, corporation president said. The mill, using Oklahoma scrap, is described by Hoster as the "smallest integrated steel mill in the world." When in complete operation the mill will employ about 100 men, producing high grade steel at the rate of 24 tons every 10 hours. Most of the output is expected to go to Oklahoma manufacturers working on defense contracts."

Caption: "Plane Parking Problem in front of 305th Troop Carrier Squadron hanger at Tinker Air Force Base became apparent when eight C-124's were lined up for the first time. The air revervists received six of the planes in one week recently as replacements for the older two-engine C-119's. One more C-124 is scheduled to be recieved by the reservists. The Globemaster can fly 2,300 miles with a load of 200 men or 74,000 pounda of cargo at speeds over 300 miles per hour. A trailer-truck can be driven inside."

Kennedy was a hit Sunday afternoon with the estimated 25,000 folks who gathered at Big Cedar for formal dedication of S.H. 103. "Iam proud to come to Oklahoma," the president said, and the crowd roared its approval. President Kennedy pointed out he had met many Oklahomans who had moved to places away from this state, "Because they had not learned the lessons of land, wood and water." Many of those who left are now coming home, he added, because they have learned the lessons of land, wood and water. The president lauded efforts of U. S. Sens. Robert S. Kerr and Mike Monroney for development of the state, and had high praise for U. S. Rep. carl Albert in his recent tenure as Democratic house whip. The infant, Ray Charles Houston, died about 6 a.m. Friday after the child, the parents, and three brothers and sisters were released from Mercy hospital following treatment. The mother, Antinette Bethany, 26, called Rolfe Funeral Home, when she found her baby dead, funeral home officials told police. Mercy Hospital officials said the child was released after X-rays failed to show any broken bones. Autopsy Sought The child was brough in for emergency treatment and released after doctors could find no reason for admitting him to the hospital, they siad. County Attorney James Harrod said his office will not request an autopsy. However, police officers were attempting to learn whether the family might insist on the post mortem. Six injured Police said no evidence has been found to indicate any foul play. officer Don Ming said the mother found found the child under debris after the explosion. The Buffs raillied fiercely to score twice within a three-minute span in the fourth quarter as a homecoming throng of 45,000 watched the Sooners become a football team. The final outcome was 22-14 after the Big Red led a foe for the first time this fall at 7-0 and, playing the best game of the year, lugged a 14-10 edge into the fatal fourth period. The defeat was the fifth in a row for the Sooners, the longest losing streak since the school began playing football. There have been four losing streaks of four games each, the last coming in 1931."
