Mill, 1600 S May. When the electric arc furnace was tapped shortly after 3 p.m., the mill officialy began the first phase of its shakedown run. The rolling mill section of the plant is still to be completed but actual production of steel will continue at an accelerated pace to stockpile ingots, W. H. Hoster, corporation president said. The mill, using Oklahoma scrap, is described by Hoster as the "smallest integrated steel mill in the world." When in complete operation the mill will employ about 100 men, producing high grade steel at the rate of 24 tons every 10 hours. Most of the output is expected to go to Oklahoma manufacturers working on defense contracts."

The air revervists received six of the planes in one week recently as replacements for the older two-engine C-119's. One more C-124 is scheduled to be recieved by the reservists. The Globemaster can fly 2,300 miles with a load of 200 men or 74,000 pounda of cargo at speeds over 300 miles per hour. A trailer-truck can be driven inside."

Kennedy was a hit Sunday afternoon with the estimated 25,000 folks who gathered at Big Cedar for formal dedication of S.H. 103. Kerr and Mike Monroney for development of the state, and had high praise for U. S. Rep. carl Albert in his recent tenure as Democratic house whip.
