Caption: "Bruce Wells, furniture store owner in the 7000 block of NE 23, is on a painful end of a highway department "example of a suit. Wells is the vicitim of an injunction suit filed by the state highway department in regard to a sign that has been put up, taken down and is now back on state right-of-way on the south side of NW 23. Hearing Set J. D. Gowdy, nattorney for the state highway department, said Monday the injunction suit was filed as an "example." Wells is to appear in district court August 7. Gowdy said Monday there are innumerable signs in that general area "which are encroachments on state right-of-way and we'll file other suits if it becomes necessary. Routed Fireworks Wells became the "middle man" when Gowdy routed out a fireworks van which hard parked on the right-of-way before the Fourth of July. Wells' sign was there so Growdy ordered him to take it down. Wells told Gowdy then that he could comply with the order and move the sign "if the others are told to do the same."
