Now they want to shoot up our namesake!" Jack Johnston is hardly upset, however, as he never misses an opportunity to talk about his favorite subject, Qual Creek. Just a little more than a year ago Quail Creek was only rumored housing development and the site, (bounded by NW 122 , Memorial Rd., May and Portland) was merely a pasture. Several paved streets are now open. Utlities are all underground. Four small lakes dot the area. Two houses in the first building phase are going up. And the Quail Creek Gold and Country Club is racing toward a completion date in late fall. "They'll be knocking golf balls on the golf course by July, and club members will be taking a dip in the pool by June," is the prediction of Boston Smith, club president.
