Pennsylvania Railroad's mighty and versatile Engine No. 1361, a K4s Pacific type 4-6-2 locomotive, was one of the earliest built in the shops at Altoona, Pennsylvania. This locomotive was placed in service May 18, 1918 and hauled passenger trains on the main line between New York, Harrisburg, and Pittsburgh over a period of thirty-five years. It rolled up a total of 2,469,000 miles before retirement. It now reposes at the famous Horseshoe Curve as a permanent monument.

"The Crescent" on w of Southern Railway's deluxe streamliners, crosses the mountains of north Georgia. It carried private room Pullman cars between New York and New Orleans and reclining-seat coaches between Washington D.C. and Atlanta and New Orleans.

For many years Grand Central Station was one of Chicago's busiest railroad terminals. beneath the great trainshed, spanning six tracks, Baltimore and Ohio's passenger trains await the hour of departure.

Grand Central Station, Chicago was opened on December 8, 1890. Baltimore and Ohio's passenger service into and out of this terminal was inaugurated in Dec 1, 1891. A combine second and first class coach, No. 7 named "Melchor Ocampo" is the rear-end car on the Coahuila and Zacatecas Railroad's passenger train which has made a station stop at the small town of Fraile on February 23, 1960. Along these narrow gauge rails in the early 1920s bandits frequently staged holdups of trains carrying payrolls in gold and silver to the mines at Concepcion del Oro.
