He was educated in the Tulsa schools and was graduated from Staunton Military Academy, Staunton, Va., in 1938. He attended the University of North Carolina, entered service and spent nearly five years in the air force in World War II. After the war he attended Cumberland University, Lebanon, Tenn., and received his law degree in 1948. He entered practice of law in Tulsa. In 1948, he led the Democratic ticket in Tulsa county to be elected state representative and served one term."
