Stubble Mulch Tillage

Photograph of Noble blade stubble mulch tillage machine being used on Wheatland Exp. Station. This is the first operation by the 8 ft. blade cutting approximately 5 inches under the surface. It raised the slice of dirt slightly, but leaves the stubble and other residue in place.

Bermudagrass Seed

Photograph of NK-37 Bermudagrass seed. Seeding and fertilizing rate was 1/2 lb. hulled NK-37 bermuda grass seed with 125 lbs. 10-20-10 per acre at seeding time. Seed was mixed with fertilizer and planted in shallow furrows 18 inches apart with an Ezy-Flow fertilizer Spreader with "Pray" furrowing device attached.

NK-37 Bermuda grass was planted during the last week in May, 1959, using 1 ¾ pounds seed and 200 lbs. of 10-20-10 fertilizer per acre. Soil unit 25c-OH. This pasture was changed from non-production to a lush pasture within 120 days by proper land use. OK-928-9.
