Evening gown

Evening gown of heavy ivory satin and black lace. Full-length, flared, princess-line evening gown of ivory satin. Off-the-shoulder neckline with applied flat collar detail. The wide shoulder encircling collar is accented over each breast and at the centerback opening with tightly pleated panels. Centerback zipper closure from mid-back to hip-level with a single hook&loop at the neckline. The front of the gown is accented with a large antique black silk lace triangular shawl (Mantilla) applied flat as a decoration. The lace incorporates stylized floral and leaf motifs accented with clusters of black beads. The lace panel has a scalloped border. The panel reaches from below the bust to just above the front hem. The sideseams of the skirt sweep backward at knee-level and form an applied band accent across the back hem. The skirt has polonaise, swagged gathers on either side from knee to ankle-level. The fullness of the skirt's back falls in deep folds. Unlined. The bodice is boned at the seams. Ivory grosgrain waist stay. Label located over inside front bustline.

Ensemble of white silk brocade. A) Knee-length dress with square neckline and short raglan sleeves. Sheath darts and princess seams that start at sleeves and end at waistband. Narrow waistband with center-front bow, and two accordion pleats from waistband to hem on each side, and four more on back similarly located. Back with v-neck with zipper and hook-and-eye closure and snap at waistband. Lined in cream silk. Neiman-Marcus-style museum label at center back seam inside with size, designer, and date. b) Evening coat. Collarless, with center front closure of four self-covered buttons. Lined in cream silk and filled, so that coat is padded but not quilted. Oval-shaped yoke from top seam to just below bust. Side pockets at either side. Short sleeves. Back with two darts at collar. Neiman-Marcus label at top inside, and Ben Zuckerman label at right side, inside. Also Neiman-Marcus-style museum label.
