Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "Gully-washing spring rains measuring over 8 inches in two places skipped across Oklahoma Tuesday causing floods and closing highways in several sections of western Oklahoma. The Washita river, which recieved most of the runoff, was flooding at Clinton. And, surging Beaver creek near Clinton washed away a small frame house. But, police there said there was no immediate danger to lives or other homes. Washita Id Rising State highway 54 a mile and a half north of Gotebo was reported closed by high water and SH 9 east of Gotebo also was inundated...The flood is expected to approach the May, 1951 flood which inundated railroad tracks in the Clinton area. Highest stage on record at Clinton is 33.9 feet which occurred in April, 1934. The Washita was expected to crest from 28 to 30 feet Tuesday night. (photo tag: Heavy rains in western Oklahoma funneled this flood down the Washita river Tuesday. The river was expected to crest overnight-eight to ten feet above flood stage-in this area around Clinton which is shown in the distance.)"

Photograph used for a story in the Daily Oklahoman newspaper. Caption: "The new Baptist hospital was seven stories and $ 1/2 millions worth the beehive activity Thursday as nurses, technicians, office personnel and workmen hurried to bring the new institution to a high gloss in time for the open house Easter Sunday. On the first floor - where waiting rooms, gift shop, cafeteria, pharmacy, offices and admitting sections are located - hardly a door had time to close before it was pushed open again. Workmen were putting the finishing touches on terrazzo floors while secretaries' typewriters were clattering amid ringing telephones...Supplies were being moved into the first floor pharmacy which will be opened to both patients and visitors. Administrator John Hendricks said the new hospital was designed to give the public "everything possible in the way of comfort and treatment. (photo tag: Final touches were being put on the Baptist hospital Thursday in order that these doors will open at 2 p.m. Easter Sunday to admit the public.)"
