"This study is one of a series of similar studies of the foundation and soil mechanics features of earth dams [...] In these studies original design data are reviewed, construction experience is summarized, and performance fo the completed structures is compared with design predictions to provide information for use in the design and construction of future similar projects" (p. 1).
